This year’s designs pay homage to our Chinese heritage and home, New Zealand. The traditional Chinese clouds are referred to as ‘auspicious clouds’ and represent the heavens, good luck and fortune. The clouds also symbolise New Zealand as the land of the long white cloud. The 12 sided shape references the 12 Chinese zodiacs that cycle through each year, with the upcoming Year of the Rat in 2020 commemorated on the T-shirt.
